About the event
The Visual Arts Committee (VAC) at Orcas Center is proud to showcase the work of featured artist Zoe Osenbach in the lobby, alongside a community art exhibition in the Madrona Room themed “Botanicals.”
Osenbach shares:"I've been taught to play and enjoy my work, and never take it too seriously. This has led me to become a very process-oriented artist. I like doing things the long way, getting my hands dirty, and making sure every step feels like ‘me.’ After many years as a photographer, I’ve found a new home in mixed media. I work with found, used, and recycled objects to give them new life. There’s a certain creative freedom in using only what I can find—whether at the Exchange or in a friend’s trash can. So many interesting things lie beneath the plastic exterior of objects we’re told to use briefly, then discard.”
